Hopefully this is the correct forum to post this:

1/ The browser needs to eliminate ALL reliance on the Windows/IE Favorites as it's "Favorites" source. Have it use a single html sheet similar to Mozilla FF as a source of these. This is much more efficient and a lot small footprint for disc space usage. I keep my various browsers and their Favorites completely separated for various reasons. Have an option where you can IF you wish to use and/or import the IE Favorites, otherwise run a complete separate list.

Also when it lists the Favorites it doesn't do so in alphabetic order and/or give you any options on how to sort them. At the VERY least lock alpha order in place, this is really annoying, unless I am missing something in a setting somewhere?

2/ Allow us to drag and drop onto the Custom Link toolbar from the Address Bar, vs going into Options and having to add the sites there.

3/ Allow the skin options to be implemented without having to do a restart.

4/ Can the middle mouse button be used as a way to open a new tab? If so I haven't been able to do this so far.

5/ Can the individual tabs have a "X" in the right hand corner to allow closing the tabs themselves vs. just a single "X" on the browser right hand side?
I have since made one discovery. There is the option to 'Import IE Links' from the Links button, but it just arbitrarily decided to import ALL the Favorites on it's own, I never gave it permission to do this initially. I have kept the Links bar in SB from filling up because we have the option to import IE Links, but we need to be able to have this option for the entire favorites list as well.
All I can say is Wow!!! I have to admit ... these are some great features and we will seriously consider adding to Smart Bro.

The idea behind using the same list of favorites as IE is to minimize the effort of moving from IE to Smart Bro. But you're correct. We can keep our own list of favorites and prompt you to import these favorites at startup.

BTW, the option that we provide to import IE link is for (links), not favorites.

So your idea still works here.

Well, how often do you change your skin Scooterpie? Razz . We have a technical restriction that is preventing us from doing the change w/o restarting Smart Bro. I'm afraid we can't do anything regarding this.

I agree 100%. Using the middle button to open a link in a new tab would make browsing alot easier.

We have a cool feature in Smart Bro that I think makes it easier to close tabs when compared to FF and IE. Simply right click a tab and it will be closed. This way, the X will not take from the tabs space... besides you don't have to point to the X button. Of course this can be customized from the options if you like. So, closing a tab can be done by:
1. right click a tab.
2. Ctrl+F4
3. press the right-most X button on the tabs bar.
4. you can set a mouse gesture (from the options) to close a tab when you move the mouse like UP then LEFT. I personnaly use this and I think it's the best option to rely on to close tabs. This way, you won't even need to click the tab.

Thanks very much for considering my suggestions. I want a browser to be fast and flexible, which is what I use for consideration when making suggestions.

1/ I understand you offer the option to import links, but as I said this needs to be done for ALL the favorites, I hate having the same favorites in the various browsers. I segregate the browsers for a reason which is why I also wish to segregate the favorites.
As well, using a single html sheet is a much faster and more flexible as well as secure option. For backup for example it involves backing up a single file not hundreds of individual favorites. MS IE is REALLY annoying in that aspect and I want to get away from that setup completely.

2/ Cool.

3/ Well hopefully I won't change it often, (I've settled on 'fire') but on setup I had to select and restart what 16 times or so, to cycle thru all of the skin colors? So that would be a time saver if it could be done, other browsers/programs allow it for example. But if it can't oh well, I'll survive. Smile

4/ Cool.

5/ I considered using mouse gestures, but, I like to have a more "controlled" method. I added the tabs plus option to FF to get the individual 'x' on each tab as the single one on the right hand side is a nuisance. I tend to use Ctrl-F4 from time to time, but if you are mousing, those extra 'x''s would be a nice option. I'll try the right mouse click, but it'll take a while to get used to it.

How about allowing us to choose if we want the individual 'x' or not in the options setup then?

What I (and many others) like to have is complete control over the setup and function of a program, so the more options you can include in the configuration, the more accepted I think the brower will be. Some like it loaded with all kinds of things, some of us like it fast and stripped and setup exactly how we like. So if you consider this when you make future releases, I can't see how you can go wrong in those choices.

You're right. I hope we will be able to include all these options (well...I'm not sure about the "All" thing) in the next major release.

BTW, I suggest you try that "right-click" thing. You will find it's one of the best things in Smart Bro. I've heared alot from users about it and how easy it is.

thank you Scoorterpie for these great suggestions.

I will certainly try to remember the right click feature and see how it works for me.

Thank you!

Great! have fun man.
